“Part of a continued escalation along the border”
Earlier this week, the IDF carried out an airstrike targeting a Hezbollah militant from the group’s anti-tank missile unit in the area of Arnoun in southern Lebanon. The operative, who was eliminated, had been involved in planned terrorist activity against IDF forces and northern Israeli communities, as part of an ongoing escalation in the sector over the previous week.
The strike was part of a focused effort by Israel’s security establishment to neutralize immediate threats and damage Hezbollah’s operational infrastructure along the border, using precise intelligence and aerial capabilities. The IDF confirmed a direct hit and reported no additional casualties.

“We will not allow southern Lebanon to become an active front”
Just one day earlier, the IDF eliminated Muhammad Ali Jamoul, commander of Hezbollah’s rocket and missile array in the Shaqif region, in a precision strike in the area of Deir al-Zahrani in southern Lebanon. Jamoul was considered a senior and significant figure in the organization’s offensive operations and had been actively working in recent weeks to rebuild damaged terrorist infrastructure – in direct violation of understandings between Israel and Lebanon.
The IDF stressed that his elimination sent a clear message: Israel will not allow southern Lebanon to turn into an active combat front. The military stated it would continue to take proactive and precise action against any actor seeking to pose a threat to the security of Israeli citizens.
