The IDF today (Thursday) published footage of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that was intercepted after being launched yesterday from Yemen toward Israeli territory. The drone, launched by the Houthi terrorist organization in Yemen, was successfully downed by the Israeli Air Force. The interception took place last night as part of the ongoing operations of the IDF’s air defense system.

This incident joins a series of successful interceptions of UAVs launched from various arenas—including from Yemen—aimed at harming Israeli civilians. The IDF emphasized that its air defense systems operate around the clock to neutralize any threat.

Only this week, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems unveiled the latest models of its cutting-edge laser-based defense system, marking a technological breakthrough in the field of aerial defense.

The new system is designed to counter threats such as missiles, rockets, and UAVs over long ranges, at an exceptionally low cost—just a few shekels per interception. Delivery of the system to the IDF is expected by the end of 2025.
