In a first-of-its-kind operation, Israeli forces this past week raided new enemy outposts in the Mt. Hermon summit area, a section of Syrian territory near the Israeli border where the IDF had not previously operated. The goal of the mission was to eliminate operational threats and confiscate enemy equipment near Israel’s northern frontier.

Elite Units in a Rugged, High-Risk Zone
Operating in challenging mountainous terrain, IDF alpine fighters teamed up with Yahalom combat engineers, one of the IDF’s most elite engineering units. Together, they uncovered military infrastructure, equipment, and an explosive device weighing dozens of kilograms.
