In a targeted operation carried out earlier today (Sunday), the IDF struck Hussein Ali Nasser, a senior Hezbollah operative and deputy commander of Unit 4400, in southern Lebanon using an aerial platform.

Nasser is considered a central figure in Hezbollah’s military build-up efforts. According to the IDF, he was responsible for smuggling weapons and funds into Lebanon and abroad, facilitated arms deals with Iranian elements, and maintained covert ties with Hezbollah operatives working inside Beirut’s airport.

The IDF added that Nasser had also overseen additional weapons deals along the Syria-Lebanon border and played a direct role in strengthening the Shiite terror group’s operational infrastructure. “His elimination is another blow to Hezbollah’s force-building capabilities,” a senior Israeli security official said, adding: “This is a very significant day.”

The strike is part of Operation Northern Arrows, which has been ongoing since the start of the Swords of Iron war. Several other senior Unit 4400 operatives have been eliminated in recent months, including the unit’s commander, Mohammad Jaafar Qasir, and his deputy, Ali Hassan Gharib.
