Shortly after the incident, ground forces directed an Israeli Air Force aircraft that located and eliminated the terrorist cell responsible for the attack.

Dozens of terror targets struck across the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours
Over the past day, the Israeli Air Force struck dozens of terror targets throughout Gaza. Among the targets were terrorists, military buildings, sniper and observation posts that posed a threat to IDF forces, underground infrastructure, and additional terror-related sites.

Fighting continues underground
Earlier, the IDF Spokesperson reported that combat teams from the Commando Brigade, under the command of the 98th Division, discovered and destroyed a tunnel approximately one kilometer in length.

During searches of the tunnel area prior to its destruction, the forces identified several Hamas terrorists who were entrenched inside and eliminated them. The underground route had been used by Hamas for terrorist activity, taking cynical advantage of civilian infrastructure in the area where it was located.
