As part of Operation Gideon’s Chariots, IDF forces have been operating in the Khan Younis area in recent weeks using two divisions—the 36th Division and the 98th Division. These divisions are employing six brigade combat teams, working in coordination with the Israeli Air Force and guided by the Intelligence Directorate.
Operating Intensively
The forces are maneuvering through the area and conducting intensive operations that include eliminating dozens of terrorists, destroying terror infrastructure, striking booby-trapped buildings, and locating weapon stockpiles—both above ground and in underground routes.
400 Terror Targets and Seven Tunnel Shafts Neutralized
The Kfir Brigade Combat Team, operating under the 36th Division in southern Khan Younis, has so far destroyed hundreds of terror-related targets. The troops have eliminated dozens of terrorists and uncovered hidden weapons stockpiles, including some concealed in buildings disguised as civilian structures.
In northern Khan Younis, the 7th Armored Brigade Combat Team, under the 98th Division, has destroyed approximately 400 terror infrastructure sites, killed numerous terrorists, and neutralized seven major tunnel shafts used by terror organizations in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF emphasized: “Operations will continue for as long as necessary—to safeguard the security of Israeli civilians.”
