IDF Captures Mastermind Behind January Terror Attack, ISIS-Linked Cell Dismantled in Samaria

In a wide counterterrorism sweep, 25 suspects were apprehended across Judea and Samaria in overnight raids, including the terrorist responsible for the murder of three Israelis near Funduq.

Israeli security forces have arrested the terrorist operative responsible for orchestrating the deadly shooting attack on January 6th in Funduq, the eastern neighborhood of Jenin, a known terror hotspot. The arrest was made during a joint overnight operation by the IDF, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), and Israeli Police

In a separate raid in Qabatiya, five militants affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) were also taken into custody. In total, 25 wanted individuals were apprehended overnight throughout Judea and Samaria in a broad counterterrorism effort.

Weapons, Cash Seized in Bethlehem Region
In recent days, forces from the Etzion Brigade and Judea and Samaria District Police carried out another raid in the town of Al-Khader, near Bethlehem. There, they arrested multiple suspects involved in attacks on a civilian road and seized 250,000 shekels in terror-linked funds, weapons and ammunition.

Additional Raids in Hebron Area
In the Hebron region, troops also confiscated two assault rifles—an M16 and an M4—along with magazines and ammunition. The suspects and weapons were transferred for further investigation. No injuries to Israeli forces were reported during the operations.
