Earlier this morning (Sunday), Palestinian media reported about 30 people killed and dozens injured at an aid distribution center in Rafah. These reports received wide coverage in international media, but by early afternoon, an official clarification was issued by the American foundation GHF.
The Matter Is Still Under Review
The foundation, which operates the aid center, clarified: “There was no shooting inside the center or in its immediate vicinity.”
The IDF Spokesperson stated: “At this stage, there are no known casualties caused by IDF fire inside the distribution compound. The matter is still under review.”

Global Echoes of the Falsehood
Palestinian reports about a deadly incident in Rafah were prominently featured by global media outlets.
BBC’s main headline read: “Rescue services report 26 dead from tank fire near the aid distribution center.”
Sky News reported: “26 killed while attempting to receive aid from the U.S.-based GHF foundation.” Reuters also reported casualties in the incident, citing Palestinian sources. It noted that, “Israel had not responded to the claims at the time of publication, “and mentioned “at least 115 injured.”
GHF CEO: False Reports Harm Our Work
Interim GHF CEO John Ackary addressed repeated allegations of casualties at the foundation’s aid centers: “These reports are false and harm the work of our teams on the ground,” said Ackary.
“There have been no fatalities at any of the foundation’s sites since the beginning of the operation.”
