Following the deadly attack last night near Brukhin, in the Ephraim Brigade sector, IDF forces continue an extensive operation to track down the terrorist. Roadblocks and closures were imposed on nearby villages, and widespread searches were carried out to locate suspects involved in the attack.
Over the course of the night and Thursday morning, Duvdevan fighters, together with undercover Border Police officers from the West Bank unit, operated in the villages of Tammun and Tubas in the Menashe Brigade sector, under Shin Bet direction. The objective: to eliminate terror cells and arrest senior operatives responsible for previous attacks and involved in planning new ones.

Five Armed Terrorists Eliminated
During the operation, Duvdevan fighters identified several armed terrorists barricaded in a building in Tubas. Following an intense exchange of fire—which included shoulder-fired missiles directed at the building—five armed terrorists were eliminated. One additional terrorist was arrested at the scene. The forces recovered three M-16 rifles and four tactical vests used by the terrorists.

In a separate operation in the same area, undercover Border Police officers stormed a hideout apartment in Tubas and arrested the head of the local terror organization, along with another senior operative. The two were suspected of executing terror attacks, aiding in weapons procurement, and planning additional attacks.

No Casualties Among Our Forces
At the scene, forces seized six M-16 rifles, a handgun, three tactical vests, four fragmentation grenades, pipe bombs, and gas canisters prepared for detonation. The suspects were arrested and transferred to the Shin Bet for further investigation.
There were no casualties among our forces during the joint operation. The terrorists and the seized weapons were handed over to the Samaria and Judea District Police and the Shin Bet for further handling.
Infant in Serious but Stable Condition
As previously reported, a shooting attack occurred last night near the entrance to the village of Brukhin, in the Ephraim Brigade sector. A terrorist opened fire on the vehicle of Tzala Gaz, of blessed memory, who was on her way to the delivery room. Tzala was critically wounded and rushed to Beilinson Hospital, where doctors fought to save her life. Despite their efforts, her death was confirmed this morning.
During treatment in the trauma unit, an emergency Caesarean section was performed in an effort to save the baby. The infant is now hospitalized in serious but stable condition in the neonatal intensive care unit at Schneider Children’s Medical Center.
Tzala’s husband, Hanan’el, who was lightly wounded in the attack, received treatment and was released from the hospital after initial care.
