The war in Gaza continues, with no real progress in negotiations for a hostage deal. With the IDF’s operations ongoing, the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee will be asked tomorrow morning to approve another extension of emergency reserve orders (Tzav 8). Although the cost to soldiers’ families is great, the recent IDF activity has produced noteworthy accomplishments. In recent weeks, the IDF has eliminated Gaza terror chief Mohammed Sinwar and two senior operatives in the al-Mujahideen Brigades, recovered the bodies of three hostages, and uncovered a wealth of valuable intelligence.

Elimination of Mohammed Sinwar
Following confirmation by the IDF that Mohammed Sinwar was killed along with other senior operatives, IDF forces located his body in bed this morning (Sunday). As previously reported, Sinwar was eliminated in an operation by the IDF and Shin Bet in Khan Younis, Gaza. During the mission, forces carried out a precise strike on a command and control center built in underground infrastructure beneath the European Hospital in the city.

Revealing Critical Intelligence
Also today (Sunday), the IDF exposed one of Hamas’s main propaganda infrastructures: an individual who publicly presented as a civilian and “neutral” figure to diplomats and journalists, but who secretly served the terror group behind the scenes.

The information this individual provided to groups such as B’Tselem gained international exposure, distorted reality on the ground, and served Hamas’s psychological warfare campaign aimed at shaping global public opinion—while systematically concealing his ties to the terror group. According to documents uncovered, he is embedded within Hamas and holds an official role in promoting the organization’s psychological warfare efforts.

Recovery of Hostages’ Bodies
Over the past weekend, in a joint operation, the IDF and Shin Bet recovered the bodies of Judith Weinstein Haggai and Gadi Haggai from the Khan Younis area in Gaza. The couple, members of Kibbutz Nir Oz, were brutally murdered and abducted by terrorists from the extremist group Kat’aeb al-Mujahideen during the October 7, 2023, massacre. Judith and Gadi were parents of four; she was 70 years old, and he was 72.

The recovery operation was carried out by Southern Command forces, with support from Military Intelligence and special units. The mission was made possible thanks to precise intelligence from the Hostage Task Force, Military Intelligence Directorate, and Shin Bet.

In a separate operation, the body of Natthapong Pinta, a Thai citizen, was recovered from the Rafah area of Gaza. Pinta was kidnapped alive from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023, by terrorists from Kat’aeb al-Mujahideen and was murdered in captivity.

Intensive and Effective Operations
The Kfir Brigade combat team, under the command of the IDF’s 36th Division, has been operating in the southern Khan Younis area. So far, the forces have destroyed hundreds of terror infrastructures, eliminated dozens of terrorists in both ground and air strikes, and uncovered numerous weapons stockpiles—some of them hidden in former civilian structures repurposed by terror groups.

Meanwhile, the combat team of the 7th Armored Brigade, under the command of the 98th Division, is operating in northern Khan Younis. As part of intensified efforts by armored units in Gaza, this brigade has destroyed approximately 400 terror infrastructures, eliminated many terrorists, and demolished seven major tunnel shafts used by terror groups in the Strip.
