U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee met Tuesday with mothers from the “Mothers of IDF Fighters” (Imahot HaLochamim) and addressed concerns about humanitarian aid in Gaza falling into Hamas hands.
“We’ll Do Everything to Back Israel”
While the mothers expressed appreciation for the GHF aid plan, they criticized the continued role of UN agencies, which — under Biden administration policy — deliver supplies that end up with Hamas. They warned this prolongs the war and endangers IDF soldiers.
Huckabee responded bluntly: “I agree 100%. Everything going in ends up with Hamas. We know this. Israel is forced to contend with UN institutions, and the UN is the culprit — we’ll do everything to support Israel in stopping aid transfers via the UN.”
The ambassador was shown footage depicting how aid shipments are used to harm Israeli soldiers. In response, he reiterated the importance of maintaining Hamas-free zones for aid distribution, as is being done in southern Gaza. The mothers voiced hope in the Trump administration’s long-term vision for peace between Israel and the world.
One True Partner: The State of Israel
“What an honor it is to serve my country in the Land of Israel — a land that has belonged to the Jewish people for 3,800 years,” Huckabee said. “It is a privilege to represent President Trump and the American people, in solidarity with our one true partner in the world: the State of Israel. We have friends and allies, but only one true partner — and that is Israel.”
He thanked the mothers of the fighters: “I wish you all the best and continued strength in protecting your sons. May you be blessed for your dedication and efforts to ensure the young men defending Israel receive everything they need. May God bless you.”
Following the meeting, the “Mothers of Fighters” organization stated: “We thank Ambassador Huckabee and the Trump administration for proving again that Israel and the U.S. share a common vision. The message from this meeting is clear: not only does the aid strengthen Hamas and prolong the war, it directly endangers our soldiers. We showed the ambassador footage proving Hamas used hidden security cameras smuggled in aid trucks to set off explosives against our troops. This must stop — it’s time to defeat Hamas once and for all.”
