Coordination between senior officials from the outgoing Biden administration and Trump’s team has been described as “close and ongoing.” A senior Israeli official explained, “There is a strong desire and considerable interest from President-elect Trump and his team to finalize this agreement before January 20.” However, Hamas has yet to provide the list of hostages that Israel demands to release in the first stage of the agreement.

According to a senior Israeli official with direct knowledge of the talks, the negotiations aim to secure the release of all 98 hostages currently held by Hamas. Discussions cover every detail of the multi-phased agreement, including logistical and procedural issues, with the ultimate goal of bringing all hostages home.
