The Israel Police’s elite unit: Fifteen fighters this week completed an intensive nine-month training course and were officially certified as members of Gideonim 33.

Fighting Terror
The new fighters were carefully selected from among hundreds of candidates and trained in a wide range of areas, including complex and high-risk operations, counterterrorism deep within enemy territory, advanced arrest techniques involving undercover infiltration, and sophisticated intelligence gathering.

A New Generation of Fighters
At the completion ceremony, held in a closed setting, the unit’s commander, Chief Superintendent L., stated:
“The end of this training marks a new generation of fighters who are continuing the legacy of defending the state. It’s a meeting point between a past of heroism, a present of commitment, and a future of security.”

In the Shadows for the Sake of Security
Commander of Lahav 433, Commissioner Meni Binyamin, praised the fighters for their accomplishments:
“Gideonim 33 is a special unit that typically operates behind the scenes. Its work is essential in confronting the gravest threats of terrorism and serious crime—often under considerable personal risk and in circumstances that cannot always be revealed to the public.”
