Hanna Katzir, one of the survivors of captivity who was released after the October 7th terror attack, passed away today (Tuesday) after a prolonged struggle. Hanna was kidnapped from her home in Nir Oz and released after 49 days in captivity. During the attack, her husband, Rami Katzir, was murdered in the shelter of their home, and her son, Elad Katzir, was kidnapped alive and murdered in captivity.
Her daughter, Carmit Palti Katzir, eulogized her mother: “Mom was a loving and devoted woman, wife, and mother who was all about love.” Carmit noted that Hanna’s heart could not bear the immense suffering since October 7th.
Her husband, Rami Katzir, was murdered on the same day in the shelter of their home, and her son Elad was kidnapped alive by terrorists and murdered in captivity. Elad’s body was returned for burial in Israel after being located by security forces in the Khan Yunis.

The hostages’ families headquarters expressed their condolences to the Katzir family and emphasized the need for continued efforts to bring back the remaining hostages in captivity.
Hanna’s funeral will take place today at 4:00 PM at the cemetery in Kibbutz Nir Oz. At the family’s request, the funeral will be closed to media coverage.
