In a distressing video published today (Saturday) by Hamas, hostage Elkana Bohbot, 34, from Mevaseret Zion, is seen tearfully and emotionally addressing his wife and young son. This marks the third time in a month that a video of Bohbot has been released. The footage was shared with the approval of his family. RegaNews is not publishing the video itself, which is part of Hamas’s ongoing psychological warfare.

“My amazing wife, don’t stop”
Holding a phone in his hand, Elkana addresses his wife Rivka:
“My amazing wife. How are you? I want you to know that I dream about you every single day, every single hour. I see you in my hallucinations, I see you in my dreams—you and our Re’em David. I see you all the time.”
He ends with a plea:
“Keep doing everything for me. Don’t stop.”

“The complete opposite of freedom”
Elkana’s family said they are deeply shaken by the latest video. In their words:
“At the end of Passover, the only thing we’re experiencing is the complete opposite of freedom.”
They also expressed their concern for his well-being:
“We are worried about Elkana’s physical and mental condition.”

“I feel like the army cares more than the government”
Later in the Hamas video, Elkana describes his deteriorating mental state:
“I don’t have the strength anymore. I’m afraid to die.”
He recounts reaching out to every authority he could:
“I turned to the state, to the government, to the Histadrut, to everyone. Even to the army—I heard they’re signing letters to stop the war and get us out. That’s good, they should keep doing it. I feel like they care more about the citizens than the government does.”

Elkana, who suffers from asthma, was involved in organizing the Nova Festival from which he was abducted. He has been held captive by Hamas ever since.
