Two new humanitarian aid centers began operating today (Tuesday) in the Gaza Strip — one in the Tel al-Sultan area and the other along the Morag corridor in Rafah, the IDF reported.

This move is part of a broad U.S.-led initiative aimed at ensuring the organized, supervised, and secure distribution of food and basic supplies to thousands of Gazan families.

According to the IDF Spokesperson, the centers were established under the leadership of the Israeli government and in close coordination with the United States. Security at the sites is provided by an American civilian security company working alongside international aid organizations.

The operation is based on four logistical compounds constructed across the Strip. Two have already begun operating, with the others expected to open soon.

The setup process involved continuous coordination between the IDF Southern Command, COGAT (Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories), the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, aid groups, and the international community. This new model is designed to ensure close oversight, remove Hamas from control over food and aid distribution, and prevent the misuse of humanitarian supplies for military or propaganda purposes.

This is a unique logistical framework that includes directing civilians through designated routes, monitoring the receipt of shipments, and separating civilian movement from the supply chain. The IDF emphasized it will continue to act “to provide humanitarian support to the residents of Gaza, while making every effort to prevent the aid from reaching Hamas.”

On the ground, eyewitness reports describe a mass influx of Gazan civilians to the aid centers — in defiance of Hamas threats. Security officials have described the development as a turning point, both in humanitarian terms and in terms of public perception.
