Amid sirens and the rush to protected spaces, the residents of Hadera received a dose of artisan hope: Liran Tapiro, a well-known graffiti artist from the city, transformed a public shelter into an inspiring work of art.
“Our spirit, inner strength, and faith”
Tapiro painted two lions against a backdrop of city buildings on a shelter wall, alongside the phrase “Am K’Lavi Yakum” (“the nation will rise like a lion”)—from the verse which gave the Israeli military operation against Iran ita name, one which has come to symbolize national strength and faith in the Israeli spirit.
“One lion is rendered realistically, physically guarding the buildings, and the second lion is more ethereal—representing our spirit, our inner strength and faith,” Tapiro explained.

He noted that the mural was created using spray paint and airbrush techniques.

The ‘Year of Hope’ Project
Tapiro (35), an electronics technician by profession and an artist at heart, has been active in urban art for over a decade.
The Hadera Municipality, which opened all public shelters and protected spaces at the start of Operation Rising Lion, welcomed the initiative and noted it continues to promote community resilience.

This is not the first time Tapiro has used art as a tool for social strength: last October, marking one year since the “Swords of Iron” war that began on October 7, he launched the “Year of Hope” project. As part of the initiative, he transformed a three-story abandoned building slated for demolition into a stunning, colorful installation in collaboration with sixty artists and creators.
