Yonatan Ma’atuff, a combat soldier in the 12th Battalion of the Golani Brigade who was seriously wounded several days ago in an incident in the southern Gaza Strip, was photographed in his hospital bed and took the opportunity to thank all those who prayed for and supported him.

“Slowly but surely, I’m recovering”
“Thank you so much for all your prayers. I feel good. I’m walking, I’m getting around. Slowly but surely, I’m recovering,” said Ma’atuff. “It’s only been three days, but I think I’ll be discharged from the hospital within a week,” he added.

The 12th Battalion of the Golani Brigade has been operating intensively in the southern Gaza Strip since fighting resumed. A few days ago, the IDF Spokesperson authorized for publication that one of the soldiers had been seriously wounded. According to the IDF, the injury occurred during combat in southern Gaza.

“I called to strengthen him, but came away strengthened”
Yonatan Ma’atuff is the son of Nahum Ma’atuff, a project management technician at Netivei Ayalon and an active reservist. Yonatan’s brother is currently serving in the Givati Brigade.

Minister of Transportation Miri Regev called the wounded soldier to offer encouragement:
“I called to strengthen him and came away moved and strengthened myself. I had the privilege of meeting a proud, fighting Zionist family. We are blessed to have a people like this and soldiers like these.”

Minister Regev added:
“With God’s help, may he have a full and speedy recovery and may we hear only good news.”
