Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel held a special briefing today (Tuesday) for foreign journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, firmly addressing the Iranian threat, the rise in antisemitism, the humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza, and France’s decision to recognize a Palestinian state.
She stated, “Dismantling Iran’s nuclear program is in the interest of the entire world,” adding that the latest report by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) is a “clear red alert.”
Haskel stressed: “Iran is determined to complete its nuclear weapons program, and the international community must act now to stop it.”

On the issue of the rise in antisemitic incidents worldwide, Haskel linked the dissemination of “Hamas lies” to recent attacks against Jews: “When Hamas lies are spread, Jews are attacked. The attack in Boulder, the murder of our embassy staff, the assaults in France – they are all direct results of incitement against Israel, which the world remains silent about. ‘Free Palestine’ has become an excuse for murdering Jews. This must stop.”
Haskel also addressed Israel’s efforts to deliver direct humanitarian aid to Gaza, noting that since May 19, over 1,000 aid trucks had entered the region, and the American-based GHF Foundation had already distributed more than 7 million food portions:
“The fact that Hamas opposes the foundation proves how effective it is. It’s sad to see that the UN – which is supposed to help – is instead blocking aid distribution and fighting against the foundation. The world needs to ask itself: Is the UN supporting the people of Gaza, or Hamas?”

Finally, the Deputy Minister addressed France’s unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state: “Unilateral steps will lead to unilateral steps by Israel.”
