Israel Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar spoke this evening (Tuesday) with Fiji’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, to express his gratitude for his government’s decision to open an embassy in Israel to be located in Jerusalem. The decision followed a meeting between the two leaders at the Munich Conference last Friday.

During their conversation, Sa’ar told Rabuka, “You are a true friend of Israel and a man of faith,” expressing deep appreciation for Fiji’s government and its commitment to strengthening ties with Israel.
Sa’ar also asked the Prime Minister to convey his gratitude to all members of Fiji’s government and emphasized Israel’s dedication to deepening cooperation between the two nations.
Fiji’s decision to establish an embassy in Israel’s capital aligns with similar moves by other nations that have recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocated their diplomatic missions accordingly. The Foreign Ministry welcomed this step, calling it a further reinforcement of Jerusalem’s international standing and a testament to the strong friendship between Israel and Fiji.
