Fiery Night in Yemen as US Bombs Weapons Depots, Houthis Seek Collaborators

Reports say U.S. carried out major airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen, with a Houthi intelligence chief killed in strikes. Houthi gunmen responded with mass arrests to hunt down collaborators.

According to sources from Arab media Al Arabiya and Al Hadath, tensions flared overnight in Yemen as the United States launched a broad wave of airstrikes overnight (Monday to Tuesday), targeting Houthi positions in the north of the country, .

Houthi Intelligence Chief Eliminated
According to the reports, the strikes focused on weapons depots, ammunition sites, and command centers belonging to the Iran-backed Houthi group. The operation also included targeted assassinations of Houthi operatives.

The Houthis confirmed that during the strikes, their head of intelligence, Abd al-Nasser al-Kamali, was killed. In response, the group reportedly launched a wave of arrests across the capital city of Sana’a, raiding dozens of homes in neighborhoods hit by the strikes.

Deputy Intelligence Chief Arrested on Espionage Charges
The terror group further claimed that its own deputy head of intelligence was arrested on suspicion of leaking sensitive locations and classified documents to the U.S. military.

In parallel, the Houthis alleged that in response to the American attack, they fired at two U.S. destroyers in the Red Sea and toward Israeli territory. However, no evidence was provided to support the claim. The United States has not issued an official response to the reports.
