Fallen Hero: Sgt. Yisrael Natan Rosenfeld z”l Killed in Northern Gaza

Sgt. Yisrael Natan Rosenfeld, a 20-year-old combat engineer from Ra’anana, was killed in battle in northern Gaza. He fell when an explosive device detonated as his unit approached a building during an operation.

Sgt. Yisrael Natan Rosenfeld, from Ra’anana, a combat soldier in the 601st Combat Engineering Battalion, part of the 401st “Iron Trails” Armored Brigade, fell in battle in northern Gaza. He was 20 years old.

“Embracing the Rosenfeld Family”
The Ra’anana Municipality issued a statement: “With deep sorrow and great pain, we announce the death in battle in northern Gaza of city resident Sgt. Yisrael Natan Rosenfeld, 20, a soldier in the 601st Combat Engineering Battalion, 401st ‘Iron Trails’ Brigade. Ra’anana mourns and shares in the great grief of the family.”

Chaim Broyde, Mayor of Ra’anana, eulogized him: “Ra’anana is broken and grieving upon hearing the most bitter news of the death of one of its finest sons. The pain is unbearable, and we embrace the Rosenfeld family and stand with them in this difficult hour. May his memory be a blessing.”

Yisrael Natan Rosenfeld z”l Killed in Building Explosion
The tragic incident occurred today (Sunday) shortly after 11:00 AM. An explosive device was detonated against a unit of engineering soldiers just before they entered a building as part of an operation. The other soldiers at the scene were unharmed. The IDF is investigating the incident.

Yisrael Natan z”l is the 880th soldier to fall since the beginning of the war. May his memory be a blessing.
