In a post published by Eli Bibas, father of Yarden Bibas, who lost his wife and children after they were kidnapped on October 7 and murdered in Hamas captivity, the father referred to Yarden’s rehabilitation process, the tremendous support from the people of Israel, and the need for recovery.
The Worst Nightmare One Can Imagine

“Hi, this is Eli, Yarden Bibas’s father. For 484 days, Yarden waited for the moment he would be released and finally return to life and hug his family again. Nearly 500 days in Hamas captivity—every minute felt like an eternity. More than anything, he longed to see Shiri again, to hold Ariel, and to lift Kfir, his baby, into his arms. But instead of reuniting with them, he was released into a cruel and heart-wrenching reality, the worst nightmare one could imagine,” Eli wrote at the beginning of the post.

We Are Here to Help Him Rebuild
“Only after his release did Yarden learn the devastating truth, his entire world was destroyed in captivity. He lost his family, his home, his belongings—he lost everything. And now, we are here to help him rebuild from the ashes,” he continued.
Heroes in the Shadows
The father referenced the rehabilitation process for Yarden, sharing: “Yarden’s recovery is a long, complicated, and painful journey. Beyond the unbearable grief, he has to rebuild his life from nothing physically, emotionally, and financially. He has no home, no stability, and every day brings new and unexpected challenges. He needs professional support, mental health assistance, and financial resources to gradually regain a sense of normalcy. And one day, he hopes to fulfill his dream, to establish a memorial for Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir.”
The Embrace from the People of Israel Allows Yarden to Believe in a Better Future

Eli addressed the tremendous support the family has received since the beginning of the war: “But even in the depths of his pain, one thing gives him strength every day, the overwhelming warmth and love of people all over the country. The embrace he receives from so many fills him with hope, gives him the strength to continue, and allows him to believe in a better future. Despite everything he has been through, Yarden still has faith. He believes in his ability to start anew, to rise from the destruction, and to build a new life. And I, his father, watch him every day with great respect, for his strength, his determination, and his resilience after facing unimaginable loss.”
You Are Our Strength to Continue
At the end of the post, the father requested assistance and support in his son’s rehabilitation: “Now, we are here for him, so he does not have to face this alone. Your donation is much more than money, it is hope, faith, and a chance for new life. Join us and help Yarden find the strength to rise and rebuild. On behalf of Yarden and our entire family, I thank you for your support and love. You are our strength to continue.”
