After Flight Cancellations: This Is the Solution for Israelis Seeking to Return Home
In the wake of the Houthi missile that landed near Ben Gurion Airport yesterday (Sunday), several foreign airlines canceled their flights to Israel. As a result, many Israelis are now stranded abroad, with no available flights home. Some had already purchased tickets, but their flights were canceled or postponed indefinitely.

Flights at Capped Prices
For a limited time, El Al is offering return flights to Israel at capped prices through May 17. Among the key destinations:

Larnaca – up to $99

Athens – up to $149

Rome – up to $333

London – up to $424

New York – up to $799

The offer is limited to basic economy tickets (LITE fare), and is intended for those who were unable to secure a flight with another airline. This includes Israelis who have been called up for reserve duty and are struggling to return home.

A Way Back Home
El Al’s initiative doesn’t change the broader challenges facing the aviation sector, but it does offer a temporary lifeline for Israelis left without travel alternatives due to canceled flights. El Al’s VP of Commerce, Shlomi Zafrany, explained: “The capped pricing policy is meant to help Israelis who were stranded by foreign airline cancellations find a fair way to return home. Israeli aviation has a responsibility to keep Israel connected to the world — even in times like these.”
