Yesterday morning (Tuesday), flight attendant Sharon Chen shared an extraordinary story on her Facebook page.
During a flight embarking from a European destination, a group of young IDF veterans and amputees were returning from a ski trip with the ‘Erez’ organization, a non-profit established in 1999 and focused on the rehabilitation and empowerment of IDF disabled veterans, children and athletes with disabilities through unique extreme sports. The soldiers boarded the plane and made their way to the economy section, most of them in wheelchairs.
One of the business class passengers noticed them and immediately offered his seat to one of the young veterans. Within minutes, other passengers followed his lead, standing up one by one and offering their seats so the veterans could travel in comfort.
“The Least I Could Do”
Sharon related in her touching post: “One of these generous passengers, receiving heartfelt thanks, humbly responded, “This is the least I can do—it’s an honor for me.”
She concluded: “Now, the inspiring young soldiers are seated comfortably in business class, while we flight attendants move through the cabin, wiping away the tears that wreaked some havoc on our makeup. But who cares?”
