In a rare direct message to residents of Gaza, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz addressed the recent anti-Hamas protests in Beit Lahiya, where local demonstrators called for regime change in the Strip. Katz emphasized that the only way to end the ongoing war and alleviate suffering is by ousting Hamas and freeing the Israeli hostages.

IDF Will Soon Operate with Force in Additional Areas
“Residents of Gaza,” Katz said today (Wednesday), “The IDF will soon act with force in additional areas of Gaza, and you will be required to evacuate for your own protection. The plans are ready and approved.”
He stressed that Hamas continues to endanger civilian lives by operating from within residential areas and using underground tunnels for terrorist activities.

Sinwar Would Burn Gaza to Protect His Regime
Katz praised the courage of Beit Lahiya residents for protesting against Hamas rule and urged others in Gaza to follow their lead. He accused Hamas of exploiting civilians for political gain while its leaders remain shielded underground or live comfortably abroad.

“Sinwar the First destroyed Gaza,” Katz said. “And Sinwar the Second is ready to burn half of Gaza with his own hands just to protect his corrupt regime and his fellow Hamas murderers and rapists. While they and their families sit safely in tunnels or luxury hotels, with billions in foreign bank accounts, they’re using you as human shields.”

Learn from Beit Lahiya
Katz concluded his remarks with a firm call to action: “Learn from the residents of Beit Lahiya. Like them, demand the removal of Hamas from Gaza and the immediate release of all Israeli hostages. That is the only way this war will end.”

Widespread Protests Against Hamas
According to reports from Saudi news outlet Al-Hadath, the recent demonstrations against Hamas rule, which began in northern Gaza, are now spreading south. The protests reflect growing public anger over the worsening humanitarian crisis and the prolonged conflict.
