Chabad House in Addis Ababa Provides Lifeline to Stranded Tourists

Around 100 Jews stranded in Ethiopia due to unexpected flight cancellations received support from the Chabad House in Addis Ababa. The emissaries provided food, shelter, and religious services until return flights were arranged.

Due to unexpected flight cancellations, approximately 100 Jewish travelers found themselves stranded in Ethiopia, awaiting their return to Israel. In response to the urgent situation, the Chabad House in Addis Ababa mobilized to provide immediate support.

Rabbi Eliyahu Habib, head of the Chabad House, transformed the site into a temporary intake center, offering warm lodging, food, communication access, and both personal and spiritual support to the travelers.

Chabad in Addis Ababa quickly became a central hub for those in need. The emissaries worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone received the necessary support, not only physically but emotionally and spiritually as well.

Thanks to the swift action by Rabbi Habib and his team, the stranded travelers received an immediate solution to their distress, preserving a sense of home and dignity even thousands of kilometers from Israel.
