After several months of operations in northern Israel, soldiers from the Golani Brigade have returned to the Gaza Strip—this time to the southern region. Over the past week, combat teams from the brigade, operating under the IDF’s 36th Division, have been active in Rafah, working to locate and destroy remaining terrorist infrastructure in the area.

Tanks, Airstrikes, and Urban Warfare
During the operation, forces uncovered buildings used by terrorists, as well as observation and firing posts. They also seized weapons and eliminated terrorists operating in the area. The IDF stated: “IDF forces will continue to act against terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip to protect the citizens of the State of Israel.”

‘We Will Open the Gates of Hell in Gaza if the Hostages Are Not Freed’
The operation is part of “Operation Might and Sword,” aimed at securing the release of the hostages through sustained military pressure. As reported, the IDF launched a planned and focused offensive against Hamas targets in Gaza after the organization refused to release the hostages and rejected all mediation efforts by the United States and other countries.

According to the IDF, the mission was carried out following thorough planning and in complete secrecy to preserve the element of surprise and maximize impact against terror hubs. Minister of Defense Israel Katz issued a strong warning: “If Hamas does not release all of the hostages, the gates of hell will open in Gaza, and Hamas will face the IDF at a level of force they have never seen before.”
