A Celebration Mixed with Pain
More than a year and a half after his son was abducted to Gaza, Tzvika Mor, father of hostage Eitan Mor, served as the sandak (godfather) at his grandson’s brit milah yesterday (Thursday). The ceremony took place at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron.
The family celebrated with bittersweet emotions – joy for the newborn, but a constant ache for Eitan, who remains in Hamas captivity.
After the birth, Eitan’s mother, Efrat Mor, wrote:
“Thank you to the Almighty for His kindness and blessings. May Eitan merit to join us at a brit milah, and may the joy be doubled.”

A Sign of Life – and a Relentless Struggle
In February, the family received a first sign of life from Eitan since he was abducted in the October 7th massacre. But since then, there has been no further information, and the Mors continue to fight tirelessly for his release.
They have repeatedly called on the Israeli government to increase military and economic pressure on Hamas and to reject partial deals, or deals that surrender Israeli security interests by releasing terrorists and giving up strategic areas won with soldiers’ lives.
“We will not give up,” Tzvika Mor, who heads the Tikva Forum for hostage families, has said in the past.
“The struggle to free the hostages is not just personal – it is the fight of the entire nation of Israel.”
