After a year and eight months of operating from Rosh Pina, Tadiran Batteries has resumed operations at its permanent facility in Kiryat Shmona’s northern industrial zone. The plant, which supplies lithium batteries to the defense and IoT industries, is now fully operational, with dozens of employees returning to their regular workplace.

At a festive reopening ceremony held Tuesday, company CEO Yigal Carmi remarked: “We’re back home! What matters most is that our employees are happy. Our factory is strong and worthy of being part of the city and the northern community.” Factory manager Yaakov Shukrun also emphasized the local significance: “As a native of Kiryat Shmona and a resident of Metula, I’m truly glad. We’re still facing challenges in workforce recruitment, but we’re hopeful for renewed growth.”
Stability
Representatives from the Kiryat Shmona municipality highlighted the importance of the moment. Deputy Mayor Alex Kartzon said, “This is a holiday for the city and for the factory’s workers. Tadiran Batteries looked after its employees even during the war, and the return to Kiryat Shmona symbolizes stability.” Acting Mayor Zeevik Zvigi added, “This return sends a clear message — we’re here to stay. This is our victory picture.”
The factory, located in Kiryat Shmona since the early 2000s, has long served as a local anchor and supports various community initiatives.
