As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former U.S. President Donald Trump met in Washington last week, panic is spreading in Iran. Senior Iranian military officials have reportedly urged Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to rapidly develop nuclear weapons, warning: “Iran has never been this vulnerable, and this may be our last opportunity to secure a nuclear arsenal before it is too late.”
Iranian Military Calls for Nuclear Weapons
According to a report by The Sunday Telegraph, Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders have echoed similar concerns, prompting Khamenei to declare that Iran must pursue nuclear weapons to confront “existential threats posed by the West.”

Khamenei Threatens U.S.: “If They Threaten Our Security, We Will Threaten Theirs”
On Friday, Khamenei issued a direct threat to former President Trump, warning: “If the United States threatens us, we will threaten them. If they act on their threats, we will act on ours. If they harm our security—we will harm theirs, without hesitation.”
Trump Open to a Deal with Iran

In an interview with The New York Times this morning, Trump expressed his preference for negotiating a new nuclear deal with Iran, stating: “I prefer making a deal over bombing them to pieces. They don’t want to die—nobody wants to die. If we make a deal, Israel won’t have to bomb them.”
Netanyahu and Trump See Eye-to-Eye on Iran
During their recent summit, Netanyahu emphasized that both he and Trump share the same strategic approach regarding Iran. “This is the same Iran that tried to kill both of us,” Netanyahu said, referring to past assassination plots against Trump and Israeli leaders by Iranian proxies. He reiterated a key policy position: “The president said something that is the core of everything we believe—Iran must never have nuclear weapons. We fully agree. If it can be achieved through maximum pressure, so be it. The most important thing is the goal.”
