Overnight (Sunday to Monday), sources linked to Yemen’s Houthi rebels reported that the United States military carried out airstrikes near the capital, Sanaa. According to the reports, at least 32 people were killed or injured in an airstrike targeting what was described as a “ceramics factory.” While the Houthis claim the site was civilian, Western sources say the facility was in fact being used for military purposes—possibly for weapons production.
Senior al-Qaeda figure eliminated
At the same time, the Saudi news channel Al-Hadath reported that a US drone struck a vehicle in the eastern Yemeni province of Hadramaut. According to local security sources, the target was a senior al-Qaeda operative who was traveling in the car at the time. The report states that he was killed on the spot, along with at least two other individuals.
These latest strikes mark a further escalation in the United States’ military activity in the region, as part of its fight against radical Islamic terrorism and its ongoing efforts to curb the influence of the Iran-backed Houthi movement.
