Passover brings more than just cleaning and cooking—it also signals peak travel season at Ben Gurion Airport. With thousands of families opting to spend the holiday abroad or use the vacation for overseas travel, the airport is now running at full capacity.
Today (Thursday), around 82,000 passengers are expected to pass through Ben Gurion Airport on 514 international flights, both incoming and outgoing. Approximately 45,800 passengers will depart from Israel on international flights, while about 36,200 are expected to arrive.

In response to the heavy traffic, the Israel Airports Authority released a list of recommendations and travel tips to help passengers navigate the busy holiday period.

Recommendations:
- Complete your flight check-in at home, online.
- Make sure you have received your boarding pass.
- Arrive at the airport three hours before your flight—there’s no need to come earlier.
- International flights depart from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Be sure to check your flight’s terminal and departure floor in advance.
- Parking near the terminals is expected to be crowded during the Passover holiday. Long-term parking lots are available, with free shuttle service to the terminals.
- Travelers departing from Terminal 1 are advised to park in Lot 22. For Terminal 3, recommended parking lots are 15, 26, or 28.
- Luggage can be tagged independently at self-service kiosks in the terminals. After tagging, bags can be dropped off at the self-service counters.
- Reservists and travelers carrying weapons should carefully check their bags to ensure they are not carrying magazines, ammunition, or firearms.
- Passengers with carry-on baggage only, who completed check-in online, may go directly to Area W in either Terminal 1 or Terminal 3—no need to stop at the check-in counters.
- Returning from your trip and need a taxi? Please use the authorized taxi service operated by GETT.
