Forces of the Northern Brigade of the Gaza Division (143), together with the Division’s Engineering Unit and Yahalom Unit, completed a focused operation to uncover and destroy underground terror infrastructure in the Jabaliya area in northern Gaza. The operation, which lasted several weeks, focused on locating and destroying booby-trapped shafts, explosives, and tunnel infrastructure used by Hamas militants for terrorist activities against IDF forces.
Advanced Tunnels Hundreds of Meters Long
As part of the operation, forces uncovered an underground tunnel route stretching hundreds of meters. Inside the tunnel, blast doors, resting rooms, and RPG launchers were found – tools used by the militants to carry out attacks against IDF forces.

During the activity, dozens of booby-trapped shafts scattered across the area were destroyed. The IDF’s engineering forces worked with great professionalism and caution to neutralize the threats while ensuring the safety of the forces operating in the field.

Forces encountered militants who emerged from the underground route and fired anti-tank missiles at our forces. In a swift response, with support from ground and air fire, the forces succeeded in eliminating the militants and preventing harm to IDF forces.
