In recent days, the Har Hevron Regional Council distributed 1,500 picnic baskets to residents who serve in the IDF reserves or as career soldiers, together with their families. The baskets, filled with a variety of refreshments, were meant to offer a moment of respite and an opportunity to share a meal at home, after many long months of ongoing service.
A gesture for the soldiers and their families
Har Hevron is one of the regions with the highest rates of IDF reservist service. The initiative was led by the Har Hevron Foundation, the Har Hevron Economic Development Corporation, and the Yehuda Resilience Center, with the aim of showing appreciation to the soldiers and the families who carry the daily burden of their service.

Council head Eliram Azulai said:
“I’m proud of our residents. In Har Hevron, service is our mission. We wanted to say thank you—not only to those who serve, but also to those who keep things running at home while they’re away.”
