During a brief visit to Israel following last week’s attack in Washington, and against the backdrop of rising tensions in the Middle East, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced on Monday that a decision from the American administration regarding Iran is imminent.
“We’re not talking about weeks, months, or years,” said Noem. “The Iranians have been given a very limited window—just a matter of days.” She added, “I asked the Prime Minister to work closely with President Trump so we can make wise decisions together.”

Noem emphasized the importance of close coordination with Jerusalem ahead of what appears to be a decisive point in the current round of talks between the U.S. and Iran. According to reports from the United States, President Trump is considering a clear ultimatum in order to prevent a “bad deal” that would not meet Israel’s needs.

Former Mossad Director: Trump Told Netanyahu – “If Talks Fail, I’ll Strike”
On Sunday, at an economic conference hosted by Mishpacha newspaper, former Mossad Director Yossi Cohen offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at how decisions regarding Iran are made. He stated that cooperation between Washington and Jerusalem is stronger than ever: “I believe Israel will not act without full coordination with the United States. I can’t imagine such a scenario.”

Cohen also revealed that he heard this directly from President Trump himself: “When Trump tells the Prime Minister, ‘If the negotiations fail, I’ll strike, and Israel will take the lead’—that’s deep cooperation.” He added that any such operation would also require extensive defensive measures: “This is the kind of action that demands significant protective systems.”
The Ground Is Shaking – Diplomatically and Militarily
The comments from Noem and Cohen come alongside reports of Israeli military readiness for a strike on Iran, large-scale exercises by the IDF, and counter-threats from senior officials in Tehran. While President Trump has recently sounded optimistic, he has stopped short of making any firm commitments. “I have a feeling I might have some good news to share with you in the next couple of days,” he said.
