Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, has fled the terror tunnels where he had been hiding and is now on the run throughout Gaza, reportedly disguised as a woman. This information was shared by Israeli intelligence sources with the British Daily Express. According to the report, Sinwar is aware that his life is under threat and has even become a controversial figure among Gaza residents, who are beginning to blame him for the dire situation they find themselves in. Additionally, a large cash reward has been offered for information leading to his capture.

Reports indicate that Sinwar left the tunnels out of fear for his life and added a demand for personal security as a condition for the negotiations taking place with Israel in Cairo. During an IDF raid in the Gaza Strip about ten days ago, forces managed to get very close to capturing him. Brigadier General Dan Goldfus, the outgoing commander of the 98th Division, noted, “We were in his underground complex, and the coffee there was still hot.” However, Sinwar managed to escape his stronghold in the tunnels at the last moment.

Security sources report that Sinwar is constantly on the move, fearing that advanced IDF technologies could pinpoint his exact location. A senior Shin Bet official leading the manhunt for him mentioned that security forces have come within minutes of his location multiple times, but he continues to move rapidly from place to place. “He doesn’t stay in any underground location for more than 24 to 36 hours straight, fearing that the IDF might locate him through technological or human intelligence,” he added.

Yesterday (Sunday), The New York Times reported that the U.S. has provided Israel with advanced underground radar to locate Sinwar and other Hamas leaders.

Sinwar continues to be a central figure in the diplomatic talks taking place in Cairo. Concerns for his safety have become one of the key considerations in the negotiations, with Sinwar demanding guarantees for his personal security as part of any possible agreement.

Meanwhile, the Reuters news agency reported, citing Egyptian sources, that the talks in Cairo ended without an agreement, as no compromises presented by the mediators were agreed upon by the parties.
