Against the backdrop of the intense heatwave sweeping the country, the Ramat Gan Safari decided today (Thursday) to treat the lemurs to a special cooling snack: colorful ice boxes packed with juicy summer fruits — mango, grapes, and plums.
The refreshing surprise was prepared by Maayan Abramowitz, a caretaker in the primate department, as part of the animals’ daily enrichment.

Record-Breaking Heat
This week, a new temperature record was set in Israel. On the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, the temperature near the Dead Sea did not drop below 36.6°C — the highest nighttime temperature ever recorded in Israel. The previous record was 35.5°C.
Eilat and Yotvata also broke historic records that night, with temperatures of 35.8°C in Eilat and 33.7°C in Yotvata.
