After Greta Thunberg’s deportation from Israel, Australian television host Andrew Bolt openly mocked the Swedish climate activist today (Wednesday). During a segment on his Sky News Australia program, Bolt commented on the awkward situation Thunberg found herself in after arriving in Paris—where she failed to come up with anything negative to say about Israelis.

“She just couldn’t find anything bad,” Bolt said wryly, referencing Thunberg’s vague remarks about her detainment in Israel. Thunberg, who was arrested by the IDF after attempting to enter Gaza, avoided answering directly when asked how Israelis treated her, saying only: “I prefer not to go into details about that.”

The Australian host also noted that, in the end, Thunberg didn’t provide much real aid to the Palestinians in Gaza, despite what she had claimed. “She said she was bringing aid to the Palestinians, but in the end, all she had was a symbolic food bag—not something that could change the situation.”

“The Israelis did what needed to be done”
Bolt, who also spoke about Thunberg’s broader conduct on the global stage, argued: “She’s just an activist, showing no real desire to bring about change. All she does is broadcast a message of online activism.”

At the end of the segment, he praised Israel’s response to Thunberg’s actions and said the country made the right call in removing her. “The Israelis did what needed to be done.”
