Argentine President Javier Milei is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, for an official visit that had been postponed from March due to widespread protests in Buenos Aires. Milei’s trip comes at the invitation of Israeli Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, and he is expected to deliver a formal address to the Israeli parliament (Knesset) during his visit.
State Ceremony to Welcome Milei in Jerusalem
The visit will begin with an official welcome ceremony at the Knesset plaza. The national anthems of both Israel and Argentina will be played, followed by a red-carpet procession in which President Milei and Speaker Ohana will inspect the Knesset Guard’s honor unit. Milei will also lay a wreath at the memorial commemorating fallen IDF soldiers and recent victims of terrorism.

Later in the day, Milei will speak before the full Knesset in a joint session attended by Speaker Ohana, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Opposition Leader Yair Lapid.

Following his speech, President Milei will meet privately with Speaker Ohana, sign the Knesset guestbook, and receive a medal and a shofar as part of the Genesis Prize initiative recognizing his support for the Jewish people. He will then be welcomed by Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Netanyahu, who are expected to thank him personally for making the trip. Israeli officials have emphasized that the upgraded visit marks a step forward in deepening diplomatic and economic relations between Israel and Argentina.
