Following IDF strikes in the Dahiyeh neighborhood of Beirut—where drone production and storage sites of the Hezbollah terrorist organization were targeted—Defense Minister Israel Katz warned the Lebanese president today (Friday) that if the government does not act against the organization, Israel will continue to respond forcefully.
“Mr. President,” Katz said, “There will be no peace in Beirut and no order and stability in Lebanon without security for the State of Israel. Agreements must be respected. The Lebanese government must disarm the terrorist organization Hezbollah and prevent it from producing drones that threaten northern communities and Israeli citizens.”

We won’t allow a return to the pre-October 7 reality
The Defense Minister warned: “You must ensure that the Lebanese army truly enforces the ceasefire agreement—not via staged coordination efforts like yesterday. We are committed to the safety of northern residents. If you do not do what’s required, we will continue to act with great force. We will not allow a return to the pre-October 7 situation.”
During yesterday’s strikes, the Israeli Air Force destroyed drone production sites and warehouses used by Hezbollah’s aerial unit.

Drone production funded by Iran
According to the IDF, Hezbollah’s aerial unit has carried out over 1,000 explosive and reconnaissance drone operations toward Israeli territory since the war began. The unit is producing thousands of drones with guidance and funding from Iranian terror elements, as part of Iran’s broader effort to harm Israel.
Over the years, Iran has financed and directed the project’s terror operations in collaboration with Hezbollah. Hezbollah operatives travel to Iran for training in domestic drone manufacturing to be carried out in Lebanon.

Strikes also in southern Lebanon
In addition, the IDF struck a workshop in southern Lebanon used to produce drones intended for attacks, intelligence gathering, and enhancing Hezbollah’s surveillance capabilities.
