Overnight (Thursday to Friday), the IDF announced that powerful Israeli strikes on targets in Beirut’s Dahiyeh neighborhood and in southern Lebanon were directed at unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production sites and warehouses used by Hezbollah’s aerial unit. According to the IDF statement, Hezbollah’s aerial unit has executed over 1,000 UAV operations—both explosive and reconnaissance missions—targeting Israeli territory throughout the ongoing conflict:

“Despite the understandings between Israel and Lebanon, Hezbollah’s aerial unit continues its terror activity and is enhancing its capabilities.”

Terrorists Trained in Iran
The unit is reportedly working to produce thousands of UAVs under the guidance and funding of Iranian terror operatives, as part of Iran’s broader efforts to strike Israel. Over the years, Iran has financed and coordinated terrorist activity through the project in collaboration with Hezbollah. Hezbollah operatives travel to Iran and receive training to manufacture UAVs domestically in Lebanon.

The IDF has identified that Hezbollah terrorists continue this activity even after the understandings took effect and is determined to act against those trained in Iran for terrorism. Additionally, the IDF struck a drone manufacturing workshop in southern Lebanon used for attacks, intelligence gathering, and enhancing Hezbollah’s surveillance capabilities.

IDF Prepared for Defense and Offense
“Prior to the strike, steps were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence. The targeted infrastructure was embedded within civilian population areas. This is yet another example of Hezbollah’s cynical use of Lebanese civilians as human shields,” the statement said.

The IDF spokesperson emphasized and warned: “Operations at these sites represent a flagrant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon. The IDF is prepared for both defense and offense and will continue to act to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel and its citizens and prevent any attempt by Hezbollah to rebuild its terror infrastructure.”
