Last night (Tuesday), in the evening hours, a Torah dedication ceremony was held in memory of three fallen soldiers from the city of Givat Shmuel, who died in the recent war: Sergeant Ofir Yeruchin z”l, Staff Sergeant Neria Moshe Cohen z”l, and Master Sergeant (res.) Roni Gnazet z”l. The Torah scroll was completed following months of fundraising and organizing by members of the “Chaim” tribe at the local Bnei Akiva youth branch, with the goal of commemorating the fallen soldiers.

150,000 Shekels Raised
The youth raised 150,000 shekels over this period, through local donations, setting up a dedicated command center, and booths in shopping malls around the city. These efforts enabled the successful execution of this meaningful project. The new Torah scroll was brought into the Bnei Akiva branch in Givat Shmuel.
T-shirts in Their Memory
The event began with the writing of the final letters of the Torah scroll, together with the bereaved families. A procession then took place, passing by the homes of the fallen soldiers in the city. During the march, participants sang memorial songs requested by the families. The event also included custom-printed shirts in memory of the soldiers, which were given to participants.

Bnei Akiva Secretary-General Yigal Klein praised the moving initiative and said: “It’s amazing to see the initiative and the desire to do good coming from the members of the youth tribe. They committed themselves to this important cause for months – all for the sake of commemorating the soldiers who fell defending the country. This is not the ‘screen generation’ – this is the generation of victory for the people of Israel.”
