Outstanding Officer
At the start of the week (Sunday), Vered Ben Saadon, owner of the Tura Winery and a torch-lighter on Independence Day, shared a deeply personal and moving post. Along with it, she posted a photo of her daughter in Israeli Air Force uniform, holding her baby daughter—Vered’s granddaughter—in her arms.
“We’ve raised a remarkable generation”
“This officer from the Air Force is my daughter,” Ben Saadon wrote with emotion. “The outstanding officer who stood beside me at the torch-lighting.”
She added that in the two years since that ceremony, her daughter has become a mother to sweet little Maayan. She described her as a young mother and career officer, juggling a meaningful military service with running a household, caring for a small child, and supporting a husband who is often away on reserve duty. “We’ve truly raised a remarkable generation,” she concluded.
