Over the past month, combat soldiers from the IDF’s Southern Brigade, under Gaza Division 143, completed a focused operation to destroy terror and underground infrastructure in the security zone in southern Gaza.

As part of this operation, the Southern Brigade and Yahalom combat engineers uncovered and destroyed an offensive tunnel route stretching several hundred meters. The tunnel had multiple exit shafts, some of which were booby-trapped. During the activity, forces also spotted a squad of terrorists emerging from one of the shafts — and eliminated them on the spot.

Thus far, IDF forces have eliminated dozens of terrorists, destroyed underground infrastructure, and expanded the buffer zone protecting communities in the western Negev.

Operations in Gaza Continue Intensively
In parallel, IDF Southern Command, in coordination with Military Intelligence and the Shin Bet, continues to operate forcefully throughout the Gaza Strip in recent days.

Israeli Air Force jets targeted and destroyed a rocket launcher used to fire toward Kissufim earlier this week. They also eliminated terrorists planning to carry out sniper and anti-tank attacks against maneuvering IDF troops.

Over the past several days, the IDF struck dozens more targets across Gaza, including anti-tank positions, weapons depots, underground infrastructure, and military buildings.
