Two new humanitarian aid centers began operating today (Tuesday) in the Gaza Strip – one in the Tel al-Sultan area and the other along the Morag Corridor in Rafah. Less than an hour later, hundreds of Gazan residents stormed the barriers erected by Hamas to prevent their access to food. According to reports, the breach was accompanied by loud chants condemning Hamas – a rare public expression of anger toward the rulers of the Strip.
As mentioned, the Hamas barrier held for only about an hour before the crowd broke through and advanced toward the compound. Toward the end of the day, approximately 100 people entered the compound itself.

A Planned and Rehearsed Scenario
Despite the appearance of chaos, those involved emphasized that this was a planned and rehearsed scenario. The American security guards followed protocol: they withdrew, fired warning shots into the air, and allowed the crowd to take the remaining aid without engaging in violence.
An Israeli official involved in the project clarified that there was no operational failure and that preparations are proceeding as planned. The IDF, which manages the security coordination, maintained control over the area throughout the incident and announced that the aid distribution will resume tomorrow as scheduled – as part of a mechanism designed to bypass Hamas and strengthen Gaza’s civilian population.

8,000 Family Packages Distributed
Around 8,000 family packages were distributed over the course of the day. The operation was carried out under the protection of a U.S. civilian security company, in close cooperation with the Israeli military.
