In a swift and deadly encounter, an IDF combat team from the 401st Armored Brigade operating under Division 162 eliminated a Hamas terrorist cell last Thursday in under four minutes, according to the Israeli military. The clash occurred as part of Operation “Gideon’s Chariots,” Israel’s ongoing campaign in the Gaza Strip.
Direct Engagement Followed by Air Support
During the brief but intense firefight, the commander of a tank unit from Battalion 52 was severely wounded. IDF troops returned fire, stormed the position, and killed several militants on the spot.
The remaining Hamas operatives were eliminated by an airstrike from the Israeli Air Force, coordinated with the brigade’s fire support team.
