Houthis’ Missile Launch Attempt at Israel Ends in Powerful Blast

Reports from Yemen say 19 people were killed in a massive explosion at a Houthi weapons depot in northeastern Sanaa. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the mysterious blast.

A powerful explosion rocked Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, yesterday (Thursday). According to reports from Al Arabiya, a Houthi weapons depot detonated during a failed attempt to launch a missile toward Israel. The network’s sources say 19 people were killed in the blast.

Muammar al-Eryani, Information Minister in Yemen’s Saudi-backed government, stated that “verified sources” confirm the explosion was caused by a failed missile launch. He said the blast occurred at a facility storing weapons used by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

Sirens Across Central Israel
That night, as reports from Yemen emerged, air raid sirens were activated across the Gush Dan region due to another attempted missile launch from Yemen toward Israel—the third such attempt in three days. This missile was also successfully intercepted or failed to reach its target, with no injuries or damage reported.
