The State Attorney’s Office, acting on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, filed a civil lawsuit today (Sunday) seeking around NIS 300,000 in damages from eight defendants convicted of breaking into an IDF base, stealing ammunition, and selling it.
According to the statement of claim, the men were convicted of various offenses, including property damage, breaking and entering, weapons offenses, and unlawful entry into a military area—each according to their level of involvement. The indictment states that four of the defendants broke into a bunker at a military base on two occasions, stealing crates of ammunition that included M16 rounds (990 bullets per crate) and Negev machine gun rounds (380 bullets per crate).

Assisted in Selling the Ammunition
Shortly after the theft, one of the defendants contacted the others, who then helped sell the stolen ammunition. The lawsuit demands that Maamoun al-Sana, Muhammad al-Sana, Haroun al-Sana, and Hamad al-Sana pay approximately NIS 130,000. This amount reflects both the damage caused during the first break-in and the money each received for the stolen ammunition.

For the second break-in, Maamoun al-Sana, Abd al-Karim al-Sana, Hamad al-Sana, Muhammad Khalil al-Sana, and Muhammad al-Sana are each being sued for roughly NIS 20,000 for their roles in selling the stolen ammunition. Abd al-Karim al-Sana is also being sued for an additional NIS 4,000 for his part in the second break-in.
