Precise Performance, Enthusiastic Audience
From the very first notes of the song, the tension was palpable in the St. Jakobshalle arena. Yet, as the music progressed, the audience was captivated by Yuval’s charm. Her steady voice, emotional power, and confident stage presence made her performance one of the evening’s highlights. At the end of the song, prolonged applause erupted from the hall, with Israeli flags waving in the stands.
Prime Minister: “You’ve Already Won”
Moments before taking the stage, Yuval received encouragement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who posted on social media:
“My wife, I, and all the citizens of Israel are rooting for you from the heart. You’ve already won — you’ve defeated the vile Hamas murderers, overcome the pain, and become a symbol of strength and hope. Now you stand before the entire world — representing the Israeli spirit with pride. We all love you, embrace you, and wish you great success tonight.”
Yuval also shared her feelings with her followers before the performance: “It’s not taken for granted that I felt safe after everything I’ve been through,” she wrote. “I feel responsible. Writing with tears. Now I’m going up — for everyone.”
She also expressed gratitude to her security team and the ISA (Shin Bet) for their continued support throughout the week.
Spain Stirs Controversy, Audience Shows Support
Just before the broadcast, Spanish television aired a political message reading:
“When it comes to human rights — silence is not an option. Peace and justice for Palestine.”
Despite warnings from the European Broadcasting Union and the possibility of a fine, RTVE did not back down, likely sparking further political controversy tomorrow. In contrast, the audience in Basel strongly supported Yuval, making her performance not only a musical display but also a statement of solidarity.
Awaiting the Results
With voting closed, the results are expected to be revealed soon. Eden Golan, last year’s Israeli representative (who placed third), will announce the Israeli jury’s scores. According to the betting tables, Yuval currently ranks seventh — but Eurovision fans know that anything is still possible.
